FedWatch is a community-powered emergency reporting platform designed to support awareness of floods, health alerts, and education disruptions in disaster-prone or low-connectivity regions. This policy explains how we handle information submitted through the app.
1. Data Collection
This app does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, phone numbers, GPS coordinates, or email addresses unless you choose to provide them in an optional form field.
Community reports may include a date, approximate zone or area, and type of observation. All submissions are treated as anonymous. Optional contact fields are used solely to follow up on urgent reports if needed and are never displayed publicly.
2. Cookies and Analytics
This site does not use cookies, trackers, or third-party analytics tools. No browsing behavior is monitored, shared, or sold.
3. Offline Storage
As a Progressive Web App (PWA), FedWatch may store certain assets locally on your device to enable offline use. These cached assets do not contain personal data.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses open-source libraries such as Leaflet.js for maps. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap, which may log basic technical information (e.g. IP address, browser type) for security and performance purposes. Please refer to OpenStreetMap's Privacy Policy for more details.
5. Use of Submitted Data
All submitted reports remain the intellectual property of the submitter. By submitting data, you grant FedWatch a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use aggregated, anonymized information for community awareness, research, and public benefit purposes.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. The latest version will always appear on this page. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
